Meanwhile, in the living room

by Steve Bullock on June 21, 2022

At the time the exterior was getting a makeover, the living room was doing the same. The most significant change was the addition of panel moulding, then a new paint job. The layout and installation of the panel moudling were complicated by the fact that wall and window heights and spacing are inconsistent. What I thought would be a mathematical exercise became more improvisational.

I’m going to post photos of each wall in sequence so it will be easier to visualize the changes.

Test colors to the left of the fireplace.
The panel mounding almost looks like brass in this light.
The pieces of tape on the window frame are holding up fabric swatches for the curtains.
Until the paint cured, it almost looked like a McDonalds strawberry shake.
