Above is the before and after photos of the sofa’s feet. I mentioned in a previous post that I was likely going to stain them. I finally found time to follow through. I apologize that the lighting is different between the two photos, but the change in the foot color is recognizable.
The change started with a light sanding. Once that was complete, I brushed on a thin coat of Minwax Antique Walnut. It was a bit too pure brown, so the second coat was Minwax Bombay Mahogany.
If I were to do it over, I’d probably go with a 75/25 mix of walnut to mahogany instead of the current 50/50 proportion. That would warm it up tone, but not enough to dominate.
