Originally estimated to be delivered in early July, the rail for the rolling ladder arrived a couple of weeks early. What didn’t arrive was a definitive answer on how high to mount the rail for our particular ladder length.
The rolling ladder manufacturer expects the user to tell them the rail height, then the company will custom-build a ladder for that particular situation. We, of course, found a ladder first and are approaching this backward in their view.
Ultimately, I guessed. I leaned the ladder against the wall at an angle that looked right and measured from the hooks to the floor. That provided one data point, but the ladder is designed to stand upright when not in use. That provides a different measurement. The hooks slide to allow for both of these positions, but I wasn’t sure how flexible the system is. Fortunately, 100 inches worked perfectly.
